How to Choose the Right Bracket: Length and Diameter Guide

Our resin brackets have varying stability and strength margins during use depending on differences in length and thickness (diameter). From the perspectives of installation dimensions and strength, we’ll explain how to choose the right bracket size for your application.

What You’ll Learn in This Article

・The concept of the dimensions indicated by the bracket’s "length"

・The relationship between the bracket’s "diameter (thickness)" and strength

・Differences in bracket sizes you can choose based on compatible diameter

・How to use the cut-to-size (optional) service

About Bracket Length

The calculation method for bracket length varies depending on the product type.

For Resin Pipe Clamp Bracket Sets

This design supports (stabilizes) pipes from the wall surface. For this reason, the bracket’s length refers to the "height from the mounting surface to the bottom of the pipe".

・Distance to the center of the pipe (standard type): Bracket length + (compatible diameter ÷ 2)

・Distance to the center of the pipe (anti-vibration type): Bracket length + (compatible diameter ÷ 2) - rubber thickness (3mm *)

*Some compatible diameters use 5mm-thick rubber.

For Resin Double Pipe Clamp Bracket Sets

This design holds two parallel pipes. For this reason, the bracket’s length affects the "distance between the centers of the pipes".

・Approximate distance between centers: Bracket length + compatible diameter + approx. 5mm (clearance)

Differences in Bracket Thickness (Diameter)

Resin brackets come in two thicknesses (diameters): Ø16 and Ø20, depending on the length.

Lengths 50, 100, 150: Bracket diameter is Ø16. Suitable for standard applications with no applied load.

Lengths 75, 125: Bracket diameter is Ø20. Suitable when you need a more secure fix.

*For compatible diameters Ø (mm) of the following, the bracket diameter will always be Ø20:

Standard type: 66.7mm and up, Anti-vibration type: 55mm and up

When to Use the Cut-to-Size (Optional) Service

If the off-the-shelf length doesn’t work for you, we also offer an optional service where we can cut the bracket to a shorter length before shipping. Please use this option when you need a precise layout, such as shortening it by a few centimeters to fit closer to the wall.

Summary

・If you prioritize strength and stability, we recommend the thicker Ø20 diameter bracket.

・Please note that the dimensions of anti-vibration brackets vary based on rubber thickness.
